Wednesday was the last day of school for the year. Thursday I got up and put on the sneakers and went out for a 40 minute walk around the neighborhood. Today I did my ifit program on the treadmill. I know you shouldn't weigh yourself every day but I gained 2 pounds since yesterday. :( This isn't making it easy. I am sick of seeing the numbers I'm seeing on the scales so I'm trying but I don't want to be discouraged so quickly.

Above All

A song sung by Lenny Leblanc that touches my heart is Above All. I like most contemporary songs and artists. This song just touches me so much it brings to me to tears almost every time I hear it. For a man to give his all just for me. But then again he wasn't just any man he was God too. Listening to the song and thinking about how he thought of each one of us above all else when he gave his precious gift so that we might live.
So many times we exalt those things like kings, treasures, wealth, and powers and forget he is above all those things.

Friday Pride

Today Al got his paper to show up at the court house for his swearing in as a citizen in March. I should be tarred and feathered.
So much has happened. I quit at the daycare. Gwyn went to school and by January 2009 I was back working. I am working at one of our elementary schools in the cafeteria. Bonus is I get to see DD #1 every day.
The girls are now in 3rd grade and 1st grade. They all are doing fine and I'm very proud of them. They are truly my best accomplishment.
I started making hats for the American Cancer Society with a lady that works with DH. They are for chemo patients. This is my way of giving to others in honor of my mom.
This week has been hard for me. This coming Sunday (28th) would have been my mom's birthday. I'm not sure why these days still get to me after 2 1/2 years.

This past weekend

MAC assessment went well this weekend. MAC is ministerial assessment center. Allan is going for his district liscense with the church of the Nazarene so this was the next step. Both he and I went for the weekend. The girls stayed with my sister and her family. Snickers (our beegle) stayed with my cousin and his family. It was nice to meet new people and to just have a weekend alone even if it did have sessions to go to.
Saturday morning Allan and I were walking on the camp ground the assessment was being held at and I suddenly realized I was there before way back in college with my Christian fellowship group.
So much has changed in our lives and looks like so much more is going to change in the future. I keep pondering on the scripture "...Lo I am with you always." I wouldn't want it any other way.

Trusting?

Psa 62:8 Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge

Trust...reliance on the future, hope.

Do I trust? Belle headed to her new Life Skills class excited. Libby starting first grade. We took the typical first day photos at the tree in our front yard. I didn't think about Allan mowing the yard last night until we came back in covered in grass clippings from the dew. Oh well something I get to clean after work -haha.
The girls came home all full of stories. Libby is in the same class as 2 other girls from the daycare latch key so she already knew some in her class. Belle was all stories about how she earned stickers for good behavior - such a great difference than last year. She meets her TSS at the school. Only downer is she has to ride 30-45 minutes on the bus to get to the elementary school she's attending.
Gwyn is anxious to move up to pre-k next Tuesday. I'm a bit worried she'll be a little lost in the beginning. Currently she's in a 2s class which most of them are going to the 3s class well Gwyn is jumping that class so she'll have a whole class of new friends to make - most of which have been together for almost 4 years. Plus she's been in a class with a little girl with downs syndrome. Gwyn has been the little girl's best friend and even mothers her at times. This particular little girl isn't going to be with Gwyn in the fall.
I cried a little knowing my mom missed the yearly phone call about how the first day went. I was suprised to have a call this evening just as the girls were going to bed to hear my dad's voice asking those special questions of how things went. The girls were so happy to tell Pap Pap all the special details.

Any more stress???

Just about the time I feel I've hit my limit whoops there's more.
My oldest pumpkin had her psychological evaluation on Wednesday last week at school. The psychologist called me on Friday to tell me her IQ has her in the mildly retarded standing. So now her diagnosis is PDD, ODD, MR, Moebius syndrome, ADHD, as well as language and speech imparement. This kid has more letters related to her than most doctors do.
Friday we have an IEP team reconviening for her. The principal at her school (she's main streamed as of now) has me so frustrated. She has unjustly disciplined my daughter. When she was made aware of the IQ score on Friday she instantly says, "well that would explain why ***** has been the way she has all year." Oh ok so her behavior is only based on her MR status? Forget the other diagnosis. I so want her out of that school next year. It annoys me our home is in her school district because I have 2 other children to go through that school. GRRR!! Friday's meeting may be a shouting match by the end of the meeting.

Daycare Days!!!

***ARHHHHH ******
Why would you try to tell your kid's daycare teacher that your child only has a cough when the next 2 parents coming in the room notice the green goop flowing from her nose? I can't believe my baby is 3 1/2.

I HATE CATS!!!

I hate cats!!! This is the third or fourth Friday in a row that the neighborhood cats have dumped my garbage all over my yard. I can't understand why our garbage is so interesting. Everyone else puts their's out the night before too. We have the bags in rubbermaid garbage cans. One would think there's not much else we could do short of barbed wire around the cans to keep them out. They may never be back again though since this time they got my almost empty bottle of Pine Sol for a chaser. Hope they enjoyed last night's feast because they are going to be mighty sick from it.

Somewhere there must be a rule/law you can't leave your pets out to run a muck on garbage night.

I can't cook properly

Today's gripe.....
I don't put milk in my scrambled eggs. - Funny you ate them completely gone.
Glad we survived breakfast. It's NOT called breakie. Oh and please stop commenting on what everyone else eats at the table. My kids have had enough of a strain on food issues I don't want them worrying about what they are or aren't eating.
Lunch....grrrr.... I make you soup and a salad thinking I was being kind. You stand in the middle of the kitchen staring once again. Haven't you ever seen anyone cut tomatoes and carrots before? Then we sit down and you tell me it's too much to eat. Well gee thanks for telling me that before I dished it all out for you. Oh and thanks for standing in front of the sink while I was trying to get YOU a drink of water because we all know that's too much of a strain while you are on vacation.
Oh and if you teese my kids again or comment on how you can't get on the floor one more time I may just explode.
Thanks for today's little gripe. Then Friday no one shows up until after 2:30 and then it's just to attach the vent tubes for Belle's new room. Around 8:00PM I get a call that the garage door man will be here at 7:45 AM today (Saturday) and the inspection of the electrical stuff is for early next week and they will be doing the insulation (or pensolashun as Libby calls it) as well as the wallboard next week. Gonna love painting my arm off next weekend and that whole week afterwards.

Only 13 days until the in-laws show up.

Oh and the girls had a cute little slumber party. Ok it was only 3 sisters but they had fun. I put Gwyn and Belle's matresses on Libby's bedroom floor and they slept in her room last night. They giggled and laughed so much I had to go lay down with them at 11:00 PM. They finally fell asleep at 11:30PM.

A new face lift

I figured that I needed a new out look on things so I changed my background to this blog. I didn't realize it was going to take me almost an hour to get all my links back on and have everything lined up the way I wanted it. But it's starting to look a little like what I want now so I guess it's off to clean the house.
Yesterday I did some steaming the boarder off the girl's bathroom wall to so I can repaint it.
Looked at house in Colorado Springs online last night. Seems like all the houses for sale are either 2001 or newer or something from 1965-1980. Guess those houses in the 80s and 90s either don't want to move out or they never built anything then.

Fun Filled Weekend

This weekend was so needed. It was the weekend for the NEOct moms to have their annual BBQ. This year it was at Kim's. We had so much fun. I got two sets of the DVD players that were on sale at Target for the girls on the trip and they worked pretty well until Gwyn just didn't want in the car seat anymore.
Allan sprung the fact he wants to look into moving to Colorado. I told him I'd do whatever is good for him. Which I would but I'm sure it's going to eat me up leaving family. Oh and why didn't he decide this before we added the garage and extra room?
The girls did well in the hotel and even were asleep within only 20 minutes of turning out the lights.
Now back to Monday normal things and start worrying about getting the girl's bathroom as well as 3 bedrooms painted before the in laws get here on the 25th. Hopefully the contractor gets one of those bedrooms finished to paint by then.

Good bad and sad

Mom's finally home. I've been spending many many days with her in the TSCU unit and then the last week at rehab. She still has a way to go but is progressing nicely and gets around well with her walker, occassionally a wheelchair or cane.

However we got the sad news today. Pap Pap (my mom's dad) died today. He was 93 years old. I'm so glad he was a Godly man and I know where he is now.
I was so blessed to have known such a wonderful caring loving man who thought the world of his family.

Crying all my tears

I'm going to appologize now if I am rude, short or emotional the next few weeks. As some of you know my mom was taken back to the hospital on Sunday night. Some of her staples tore and we were thinking what was going to be a simple procdure to repair a small problem with the intestines yesterday was the answer. Well that simple surgery wasn't so simple. It lasted over 3 hours. When the surgeon realized it was more than he could handle they brought in a specialist. The specialist said the damage of the tear was so severe that he couldn't even fix it without chancing that it would tear worse somewhere else. So they tried to repair what they could and wound up adding her a colostomy. We were finally notified of all of this after 7 pm and that she was going to recovery. No way were my dad, brother, sister in law and I ever prepared for what we had to face at 9:30 when they called to the waiting room to have us come to her room with them. Currently she's on a ventilator because they don't want her getting pneumonia and she is so heavily sadated that they don't want her waking up and freaking out. So today my dad is going to work to try to take his mind off things. I'm going to try to find someone that can watch the girls tomorrow (when they are expecting to bring her out of sedation as of now). My sister is in Canada because her husband's grandfather died on Friday and the viewing is tonight. They aren't staying for the funeral tomorrow. If you pray please pray for Angie as all this happened after she left for Canada and she is even more emotional than I am. Seriously my dad and brother told the ICU nurse last night we may need extra help when she sees my mom the first time because of her having an anxity attack or worse. Oh and to top the whole day off my mom's 94 year old dad has taken a turn for the worse and they are giving him 1 day to 2 1/2 weeks left. We haven't decided when to tell her because we know that will tear her up even more than facing what all she's going to wake up to since she's very close to him and his Power of Attorney.
Annette (who's cried til my eyes hurt)

The Day to never relive.

Yesterday was the day from almost hell.

Allan decided to have a mid life crisis as I put it and buy himself a classic MG mini. So since mom had surgery on Monday and he took Monday and Tuesday off I figured we'd go pick it up Tuesday. So our day began by getting up and seeing the mason was finally here after waiting 3 weeks to lay the cinder blocks for the garage. So we see the guys and head out for the U-haul to pick up the trailer Allan's secured online telling them what vehicle we are going to haul on it. Get there and have the man put it on the Land Rover. Mind you I said something when signing for it about the car being a MG mini this will be important later.

We start going to Bethlehem PA which is about a 3 hour drive. Get donuts for the girls to eat and we are off. We got a little lost when we had to make a potty stop but the GPS worked well getting us back on track (for once- for those that don't know about my hate of the GPS ask about our trip to the aquarium).

We get to this gorgeous mansion. I was terrified when the girls ask once again to go to the bathroom and the guy selling the car's wife said sure bring them in my house. Umm I don't think so you have 3 living rooms before the marble bath with pedestal sink. And you are asking a 2, 5 and 6 year old to run in your house? Well we made it in and back outside to play in the grass that looked like local golf courses. Meanwhile Allan and the owner are on a "drive". Why is it that sounds like it should be short term? It probably was but with 3 kids it seemed longer. When they return Allan states we are definitely interested in the purchase and they start loading the car on the trailer. BIG PROBLEM!!!!! The MG midget is only like 3 1/2 - 4 wheel spred and the trailer isn't that narrow. Great! Allan can't drive it since he's never driven stick before in the states and doesn't know if he'd be able to shift for 3 hours not knowing how to drive properly. I can't drive it cause since I broke my foot I don't know if I can shift either plus the car is so small I can't get my legs under the dash board. Why are we buying a car neither of us can drive??? Still makes me wonder. So the man says how about you give me a deposit and I'll hold it for you all until you can get someone to help drive it back to York. My dad is going out to Bethlehem with Allan again on Saturday for this.
Then we start on our way home. Remember we've spent all day in the car with 3 kids so they are doing extremely well! We get back into York and decide we might as well take the trailer back to U-haul. What should have been a 15-20 minute drive from the off ramp at 83 to the Uhaul place was no exaggeration over an hour. When we finally get there we find out that there was an accident at the main intersection down the road from the u-haul on Rt 30 (the main route in York) and the one driver was killed so everything on Rt 30 was shut down. Because of all the rerouting it took another hour to get back home. I was so exhausted.
The highlight of the day was to see the mason had finished laying the blocks.
Went to see my mom in the hospital after all this and had an upsetting time when sister in law kept being snide and snotty with everything I said or did then when we were all leaving she wrote her work number and my sister's work number on the note pad for the nurses to call in an emergency and then told me I could help by cleaning my mom's house. I wanted to give her some reconstructive surgery to her face when I left.

This morning I called my mom and she said she had a really bad night with shortness of breathe and they took her to have a CAT scan and Xrays as well as give her oxygen overnight. She was scheduled to come home Thursday but I don't think she's getting out tomorrow.

Frustration....

In the famous words of Isabelle. (Yes, it's now Isabelle. No longer are we allowed to call her Belle. *tears* ) I can't believe it!?!?!?! It's the last day of May.

Frustration defines this last week well. Frustration is....The act of frustrating or an instance of being frustrated.
Frustrate means
To cause feelings of discouragement or bafflement in.
I'm definitely discouraged and baffled by much.

Last week we were told my grandfather is deteriorating quickly. He's 94 years old. Guess these ole bodies aren't cut out forever. The nurses and doctors said probably only 4-6 months left. On Monday he had a problem using his legs. Apparently they think he had a mini-heart attack and it cut off the main artery to his legs. He's doing better now.

Yesterday mom had her CAT scan to see what they are going to do about the cancer coming back. She is to get the results from that scan today. I am so worried about her. It makes me wanna cry some days and just not stop. She isn't old and her grandchildren are so young. All of them have another grandmother but they all live in other countries. This isn't fair to them. It's just not right having to grow up without a grandma to show you how much fun and how interesting grandmas can be.

On the garage front..... Nothing new. The mason was scheduled to come last week and lay the blocks but he never showed up. The contractor said he was going to contact him and see when he was coming out this week.

The most frustrating thing of all is when Isabelle got off the bus yesterday the driver told me that the teachers are going on strike Thursday (yes tomorrow). I can understand that teachers need more benefits and pay and all but why make the kids suffer? To top it off it's "Fun Day" at school and since it's the district having fun day and not the Intermediate Unit it will still happen. Therefore all these kids with disabilities who have worked so hard to achieve a goal of having fun on fun day won't be able to participate.

This also has me frustrated because Gwyn is to be evaluated by the IU on Monday so if they aren't back from strike by then what happens? Her EI services end on July 2. This appointment for Monday was set way back in March. It's not likely they are going to be able to reschedule one in a couple weeks.

Monday Stuff

Belle literally lost her first tooth on Friday night. She went to bed with it in her mouth and Saturday morning it was gone. It wasn't loose. Not sure how it popped out. So the Tooth Fairy made her first arrival at our house on Saturday night.

Saturday we went to see Over the Hedge with the girls. That was so much fun. I love watching Gwyn with the big bucket of popcorn. She's so funny and insists that she holds the bucket.

Belle went to the doctors this morning after 2 nights of coughing and waking mommy I thought it was necessary. She's back on an antibiotic and cough medicine. Funny how that stuff is supposed to make her drowsy but she's driving me crazy still.

The cinder blocks arrived for the garage this morning. Guess they'll be laying blocks soon.

I decided to make meatloaf for dinner (Allan's favorite). Mixed it up and have it in the oven and he just called home saying he's sick and on his way home. So much has been going on with the nice weather and Belle having 2 weeks of spring/Easter break from school. The girls and I've spent some of that time at the park and we've started a new project - our garden. We planted seeds in a rubbermaid tub that goes under the bed only we kept the top off. Monday we planted corn, cuccumbers, tomatoes and green beans. It's only Friday and we have sprouts of all but the tomato plants so far. I guess in a few weeks we'll be transplanting them outside but the girls are excited seeing the shoots come out of the ground. We have carrots, onions, watermelon, cantelope, pumpkin and pepper seeds for outside planting. Guess I'll be spending the summer weeding and picking fruits and vegetables.

Also my new fun thing to do is making pixel paintings. So far I've made a teddy bear and an umbrella on my own. Other things I've made have been from tutorials.

Oh and on the garage topic. UGH! Can I just scream? The contractor says yet another week. Apparently the guy he subcontracts to do the digging had a problem and now he's looking for another person. I just hope he doesn't expect us to pay for another permit when it's not finished in time. He got one in January when we paid the deposit and I think they are only good for 6 months.

Another worry with the garage issue is we are getting a spare room built above it. This is a real need since Allan's parents are supposed to be here either from mid August to mid September or mid September to mid October and I don't want to have to move the girls around especially with them starting school in August.

Guess that's all my news for now.

Best news in weeks

Well I'm finally home from the Orthopedist. My mom took me. We went in and the nurse proceeds to cut the old one off. BTW it was blue almost the darker standard color for windows. Then the X-ray tech comes in and I have to make my way to the X-ray room. Get back in the room and the doctor comes in to ask how I was doing. My reply, "I'm still here." He then tells us that my foot has had an exceptional healing. What was going to take 8-12 weeks only 4 weeks ago is all healed. My only requirements are to keep shoes on it and no sandles or slippers and to come back in 2 months for follow up x-rays. I almost jumped off the table and kissed the man. My leg is a little weak and has shrunken literally compared to the other leg. Now I just can't wait to get out and drive again. I'm considering getting that yellow caution tape and just roping the room off until the girls are teenagers.

Tomorrow is 3 weeks with this cast on and I'm ready to rip it off myself.

Momma never said there'd be days like this...

The girls have me wonder some days. Why?? Libby's been in a funk lately and everything is a *heavy sigh* or a *stomp the feet* kind of response. Makes me want to move out before she turns 13.

Allan asks the girls what they want to eat for dinner. Libby answered him, "Red Lobster." He doesn't realize that he needs to give them a choice of things rather than an open ended question about things like that.

Gwyn's new favorite thing to watch on TV is Sesame Street. Ugh! I love Grover and the gang don't get me wrong but you can only take so many repeats of the same songs they played for the last 30 years. I know for a fact its been that long because I watched them when I was little.

Oh we are having Chicken with stars for dinner. Mommy fixed that by saying Chicken Noodle or Chicken with stars when Daddy said mommy needed to decide.

Nothing much more today.
